Under the Children’s Act 2004, a range of different organisations, services and agencies across education, social care, health and housing are required to demonstrate partnership working by cooperating and sharing information with each other with the best interests of children in mind. Should a child in an early years setting be suspected in be in danger of significant harm or abuse, it is the responsibility of an early years practitioner within that setting to be part of the partnership of agencies working to safeguard the child and protect their welfare. The Common Assessment Framework was created to aid and encourage the partnership working between these agencies and maintains a continued focus on identifying the needs of children and creating a course of action to ensure that these needs are met.
